The Wonderful World of Third Grade
4-9 through 4-13
4-9 through 4-13
Remember that students will need a white t-shirt and a donation (if possible) of fabric paint for our Earth Day shirts – I am hoping to have all that we need by Wednesday the 11th so that we can paint on Thursday the 12th! Thank you!
Our Week:
This week’s Simple Solutions are lessons #85 through #88.
Spelling Unit #26 is posted on Spellingcity.com and the test will be on Friday.
We will have a Science Test over chapter #6 on Thursday. This week we will review our science chapter, create Earth Day shirts and we will also be creating animal track fossils for a science lab.
In reading we will be focusing on vocabulary, comprehension and sequence of events with our National Geographic Magazine.
In language arts we will be celebrating National Poetry month. We will be reading Hate that Cat, and creating a flipbook that will introduce the students to many different types of poetry. This week students will be learning about Haiku, Couplets, Cinquain, and acrostic poems.
In Math we will be working with line plots, graphing and ordered pairs. Students will also continue to sharpen their multiplication and division facts. Those students who have yet to master their multiplication tables through 12 will need to do so quickly. Please continue to drill and practice at home, as memorization is the key.
Students will need to take and pass on AR test for the month of April.
In Religion we will be celebrating the Easter Season. This week we will examine Jesus’ victory over death.
In Social Studies students will be working with their checkbooks, learning about fixed expenses, and learning to stay within their personal budgets.
In Health we will be finishing Chapter Five by learning about food safety.
I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break
and
a very blessed Easter!
