The Wonderful World of Third Grade

 2-6-12 through 2-10-12

Our Week:

Simple Solutions lessons this week are #61 through #64.

Thirty minutes of IXL is due by Friday.

In Religion this week we will be studying how God revealed his holiness to Moses and through Jesus.

In Math this week we will be comparing, and counting money.  We will also begin to learn how to count back change and make organized lists to problem solve money questions.

In Science we be creating food chain mobiles and energy pyramids.

In Language Arts we will be finishing our stories with the prompt of “If I had a hundred dollars…”  Students will also be introduced to commas this week.

In Reading we will be working on our unit for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.   Students should be reading nightly at home for their reading journals, working on their AR goal of two appropriate chapter books for the month of February.

The spelling test for Unit #19 will be on Friday.  All words are posted on www.spellingcity.com.

Please remember to send snacks on hot lunch days, I have been providing them for many of the students.

In Social studies we will be continuing with Junior Achievement with Mr. McMahon and also starting a money unit in our textbook.

At this point in the year many students have used all of their school supplies.  Please check in with your child, as many students seem to be in need of scissors, crayons and colored pencils.  Thanks

Have a wonderful week!
